Hey there, I'm Jennifer

When I started Maypop Grove in 2019, my vision was to create a welcoming and needed resource for leaders of change to recharge, renew, refresh, and then go back out there and do more, inspire more, and make the changes we need happen.

In my own 30+ year career, I've gathered approaches, techniques and favorite tools that I'm sharing with you.  This is also a home for giving back, bringing our community of change leaders together to care for each other.

Stats: (as of 2023)

36 years leading and delivering change across

58 multi-national organizations and firms served

6 current professional certifications

15 years creating and delivering graduate/post graduate education

2400+ professional adult learners taught personally

My professional philosophy is informed by three main quotes:

“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.”

—Edith Wharton "Vesalius in Zante. (1564)" - 1902

“Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”

—William Morris “The Beauty of Life” - 1880

"I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are really good at heart."

- Anne Frank, diary, 1944

I have led team performance improvements driven by solid organizational design and technology for now 36 years, balancing professional services with in-house roles of leadership accountability, adding to my skill sets, credentials, and communities of colleagues along the way.

Having worked for or with more than 58 organizations ranging in size, industry and global presence on their strategic alignment, operational effectiveness, compliance and dedication to customers, I have spent decades finding the best stories to make leading change with purpose real.

In living my own rule of "learn one, do one, teach one", I have been a committed educator and mentor alongside my professional career.  After guest lecturing at schools and organizations in Washington and California since 2000, I have designed, developed, advised and taught graduate-level project management, change leadership and sustainability education with the University of Washington, City University of Seattle, and with University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China through CityU since 2008.

I have found that the choice and honor to teach holds me accountable to share what I learn, to learn in order to share, and to make what I know useful.  Thinking this way, whether in role as an executive coach, organizational exec, consultant or writer, reminds me to always aim outward.

I am better at what I do when I know the job ends by teaching someone else.
